The pool
An endowment for data: everything that comes in is invested, only the interest goes out.
What it holds
| Sleeve | Share | Where |
|---|---|---|
| USDC | 80% | Lent in Kamino’s main market |
| JitoSOL | 20% | SOL staked with Jito |
Both rates are read live (Kamino’s reserve metrics and Jito’s stake-pool stats) and shown on the pool page.
Covered
Covered = pool yield ÷ 3.00%. Above 1×, the pool grows and later files cost it less. Below 1× for long, it shrinks; the $DEED tax is the first top-up. Year one’s rent is 3.50% of a file’s share.
If yields fell
How long one gigabyte’s share ($15.43) lasts if the yield stayed at each level forever:
| Yield, every year | Covered | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0% | 0.33× | 38 years |
| 2.0% | 0.67× | 51 years |
| 2.5% | 0.83× | 66 years |
| 3.0% · the floor | 1.00× | past 500 years |
| 4.0% | 1.33× | past 500 years |
| 5.0% | 1.67× | past 500 years |
In and out
- In: the pool share of every keep, the $DEED tax (claimed by the program and staked as JitoSOL), and the interest on both.
- Out: rent for every copy, repairs, and the holder gigabyte.
