Pricing
One formula, every input named. The numbers below are the ones the site charges.
The formula
price(GB) = rent + rent / (floor + decline)
rent = copies × rent per GB-month × 12
= 3 × $0.015 × 12 = $0.54
floor = 3.00% (the yield the pool is sized for)
decline = 0.5% (storage gets at least this much cheaper a year)
price = $0.54 + $15.43 = $15.97 per GB, once
minimum = $0.10 per keepThe pool’s share is the present value of a rent that falls by decline each year, discounted at floor: rent / (floor + decline). At the floor yield the pool pays the rent forever, shrinking only as fast as storage gets cheaper.
